I've just reviewed some recent posts and suggestions. I would really like to direct some of you to our online community where people post images and videos from the BRI eaglecam...including an excellent and recent video of a mating attempt . I have also, per request, returned the view to show more of the tree. I plan to leave it in this view for a spell.

3/24 around 11 am I noticed an eagle in the nest being vocal. It flew off and then for the past 10 minutes I have heard work trucks close by. I hope they do not inhibit mating and nesting at this nest. I think this is a crucial time

It is nice to see them both visiting this nest almost daily, I think of that as protecting your home territory. I know recently you stated you had some reservations about them nesting and I wonder what our deadline so to speak might be for them to lay eggs.
The EC2 couple will have hatching in a few weeks and these 2 haven't an egg to sit on! Could it be a difference between coastal & inland or just those differences that make up the natural world?

An eaglet hatched today in Oklahoma - live eagle cam at http://www.suttoncenter.org/pages/live_eagle_camera They have a link to the utube video of the hatching. Stark contrast between the two nests in different parts of the country.
ReplyDeleteOh My! That cam link posted above is dizzying. The angle is awful, and even with a chick, extremely difficult to watch. I much rather enjoy these cams 24 hours a day.

ReplyDeleteTwo eagles in the nest at 8:20 am - both flew off 8:30 am
4/4...7am and both birds on the nest. I have hope that one of them is sitting on some eggs.
ReplyDeleteEaster weekend...I tuned in and was hearing chain saw very loud. Hope this isn't a deterrent.

ReplyDeleteHow sad that my favorite nest is once again empty. Would love to have another opportunity to watch laying, hatching, fledging at this location.
While the nest view improved, I wonder if the absence of a large limb has left this nest less desirable from the eagle point of view?
