More Good Signs

I just reviewed your comments and was excited to see the amount of activity on the nest. Please look for the birds bringing in sticks and preparing the nest bowl. A very good sign is how defensive the pair is of the nest.

Just a note with the snow is that the lens can become clogged up with snow, making the image white/grey. Unfortunately, there is nothing we can do about this until it melts. This storm is only going to drop a couple of inches so it should be alright.

Thank you for all your excellent observation.

Good Signs

This morning I was reviewing a number of the videos that you have all posted and I was very pleased to see some pre-nesting behavior. Specifically, the way one of the birds sat briefly in the nest bowls and pushed back with their eggs. Another good sign is the way that the bird is looking down into the nest bowl.

As the birds progress towards nesting we should see sticks being brought in, possibly copulations, and the female “practicing” sitting.

Please keep up all the great observations and I will have the infrared turned on this week.
